Why Midori

A short account of a name, a landscape, and Phase 1 of the plan built around both.

The Name

Green, as a discipline

Midori is the Japanese word for green. It was chosen early, before the plan, before the approvals, before the land itself was fully surveyed, as a constraint on everything that followed: the land in Vikarabad would be shaped around what already grew there.

The Land

A plateau, not a postcard

Vikarabad sits on the higher, drier ground of the Deccan plateau, with the granite outcrops and dry deciduous cover typical of the region. It is a working, weathered landscape, and that is the appeal.

The Plan

Phase 1

The current layout is Phase 1, the first of what is planned as a longer, deliberately unhurried release. A founding team at Midori Landmarks LLP oversees the project end to end, from approvals through to release.
